What is National Honor Society?

The purpose of National Honor Society, as stated in its constitution, is to "create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership and to develop character in the students of secondary schools."

How does one become a member of National Honor Society?

Membership in National Honor Society is an honor bestowed by a faculty council upon those students who demonstrate oustanding character, leadership, scholarship, and service. Students are expected to continue to demonstrate these qualities for as long as they are members.

The applicants must:
Be a junior or senior
Have at least a 3.8 cumulative GPA from the beginning of ninth grade
Show evidence of leadership skills
Show evidence of continued community service since the beginning of the ninth grade
Have had no excessive excused absences and no unexcused absences in the previous year
Have no record of dishonorable conduct during the preceding year
Have had no ISS or OSS or probation assigned during the preceding year
Have exhibited exemplary character in school and in school activities, as evaluated by his teachers and approved by the National Honor Society Faculty Council
Submit a completed application form by the deadline; late applications will not be accepted.
Completion of the application form does not guarantee selection.
